| Queens Come Up Short at Oklahoma City, 6-5 | The Oklahoma City Twisters picked up a win at Wranglers Ballpark, knocking off the Denver Queens, 6-5. Starting pitcher Mike Clark was a big reason why. The winning pitcher was Clark, now 2-0. He tossed 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 7. Brian Costello recorded the save, his 1st.
Blake Shannon had a big 2-run home run for the Twisters in the bottom of the first inning. With Oklahoma City leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a sinker from Kareem Brobbey, who finished 3rd in the UL in innings pitched with 160.1 in 2038, and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Twisters on top, 3-0.
"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Shannon.
The Twisters, now 8-4, have been playing some good baseball.
