| Negrete Dominant in Mexico City Win | Santiago Negrete was superb against San Diego. The left-hander, who finished 2nd in the UL in strikeouts with 182 last year, had a fastball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Marauders victory. The score was 5-0. Losses have been rare for the Luchadors, who are now 10-3.
Negrete earned the win, going 7.1 strong innings for Mexico City. The left-hander allowed just 1 hit, while striking out 11. San Diego hitters had little success against him.
"We had trouble making good contact against Santiago," said San Diego manager David Fields.
