In Extras, Firebirds Beat Toltecs, 3-2
The Phoenix Firebirds picked up a win at Firebirds Ballpark, knocking off the Leon Toltecs, 3-2, in 13 innings. On the mound for Phoenix was right-hander Lee O'Meara. He played a pivotal role in the triumph. Josh Smith earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. His record is now 1-0. The Toltecs fall to 5-8 and continue their lackluster start to the 2042 season.

The decisive blow was delivered by Tim Campbell in the bottom of the 13th when he hit a run-scoring double off 31-year old left-handed pitcher Francisco Rodriguez to win the game for Phoenix. The home crowd went nuts.

"This win should put a little bounce in our step," said Campbell.
