| Beairsto Now 2-1 Following 4-1 Win | Phoenix Firebirds pitcher Johnny Beairsto was in fine form, leading his team past the San Francisco Pioneers, 4-1. San Francisco, now 3-11, continues its tough start.
Beairsto, a native of Quinte West, Canada, was dealing all game. He kept San Francisco hitters off-balance, while giving the Firebirds 8 quality innings. Beairsto threw 97 pitches, allowing 3 hits and striking out 6.
"Johnny set the tone with his ability to attack the hitters," said Phoenix manager David Fields.
