| Negrete Propels Mexico City to 2-0 Win | The Mexico City Marauders got a magnificent effort from pitcher Santiago Negrete, who kept Hollywood hitters in check en route to a 2-0 Marauders win at Marauders Field. Nick Weaver, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2043 draft, earned the save for Mexico City. Hollywood, with the loss, is still a hardy 15-3.
It was a remarkable effort from Negrete, who is one of the team leaders. Negrete recorded 7 strikeouts in 8 innings while allowing 1 hit. Negrete, who finished 3rd in the UL in ERA with 2.39 last year, moves to 3-0 on the year with 30 strikeouts.
Negrete attributed the win to his team's "focus and intensity." | | | | |
