The performance of German Aguino proved critical in helping Miami beat Detroit, 9-1. The Makos catcher was 4-4 with 2 home runs and 2 singles. He drove in 6 runs and scored twice. The Vipers fall to 4-9 and continue their uninspiring start to the 2045 season.

Aguino contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Miami in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 1-0, Aguino took a slider from Kyle White and stroked the home run to left. His 4th home run of the season allowed the Makos to leap in front, 4-1.

"Glad to get this win," said Aguino. "But we need to keep playing at a high level."
