| Firebirds Take Down Pioneers, 2-1 | Firebirds Ballpark was the site of quite a ballgame.
Phoenix picked up a win at Firebirds Ballpark, bumping off the San Francisco Pioneers, 2-1. Pitcher Bert Cole was a major reason the Firebirds emerged victorious. The Firebirds, now 7-13, have not found much traction so far in 2042.
Tim Campbell was the walk-off hero for Phoenix. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Firebirds designated hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"This place went bonkers at the end," Cole said. | | | | |
