| Perez Whacks 2 Home Runs in 4-1 Win | Jose Perez knocked in all 4 runs for the Atlanta Peaches, helping them beat the San Francisco Pioneers, 4-1. Dave Smith, who went 7 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 1 run on 5 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 5. His record now stands at 1-2. Picking up his 5th save was 22-year old right-handed pitcher Mitchell Wilson.
The game turned with one out in the top of the fourth. That's when Perez hit a 2-run home run off Lesley Ekdar. It propelled the Peaches into the lead, 2-0.
"It's good to win," Perez told the Atlanta News. "I like to have fun doing it."
