Woods picked up the win for Houston, going 7.1 innings. He gave up no runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 2-0. With the win, the Rangers sit at 13-9.
The Rangers got a big at-bat from catcher John Chavez. For the game, Chavez was 1-2 with a home run and a walk. In the bottom of the third, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Houston a 1-0 lead.
"A confident pitcher is a dangerous thing," said Houston manager David Fields. "That's what T.J. is right now."
