| Pioneers Earn 7-5 Win Versus Seattle | San Francisco third baseman Edgardo Valverde made his presence felt in the 7-5 Pioneers triumph over the Seattle Pilots. Valverde was 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Greg Olsen picked up the win in relief for San Francisco, while Rodolfo Bustamante took the loss. San Francisco is now 14-10, 2 games up in the United West.
With San Francisco leading 3-2 in the bottom of the fourth, Valverde hit a changeup from Rodolfo Bustamante for a 2-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Pioneers ahead, 5-2.
"We've got great fans," said Valverde. "I hope they got what they came for."
