Houston turned a good effort from starter Jalen Griffin into a win over the Atlanta Peaches at Peachers Park. The Rangers won the game, 7-1. Griffin, now 2-3, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 6, walking 3, and allowing 1 run.

Houston used the hitting of Eddie Brenes to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Rangers on top, 2-0. For the game, Brenes had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
