| Brenes Leads Rangers to Win | The Houston Rangers did just enough to sneak past the Dallas Jets, 5-4, at Globe Life Field. Houston designated hitter Eddie Brenes, in particular, had a standout performance. The winner was Houston reliever Jake Braun, now 3-3. The loser was Luis Vega. The Rangers raised their record to 12-18.
Nate Davis dealt the Jets a blow in the bottom of the third. Batting with runners on 1st and 3rd and Houston leading 4-3, Davis, who finished 5th in the UL in wins above replacement with 4.5 in 2042, hit a 1-1 fastball for a run-scoring single.
After the game, Houston manager David Fields applauded the team's effort. "We put some good AB's together," he said.
