The Mexico City Marauders downed the Phoenix Firebirds, 3-1, at Marauders Field. Stellar pitching by Travis Segura had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, who is tied for 7th in the UL in wins with 3, handcuffed his opponent all game. Lucas Walters picked up the save, his 2nd. Mexico City has run its win streak to 4 consecutive.

Mexico City left fielder Mathieu Fournier contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a splitter to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 35th hit of the season and put the Marauders ahead, 2-0.

In postgame remarks, Fournier hailed his team's "mettle."
