Phoenix and Hollywood duked it out and the Firebirds came out victorious.

Getting a good performance from designated hitter Victor Chavez, the Phoenix Firebirds defeated the Hollywood Hitters, 9-6. Chavez was 4-5 with 2 home runs and 2 singles for the Firebirds. Earning his 9th save of the year was Kevin Williamson.

In the top of the first, Roberto Rodriguez ambushed a 0-2 sinker from Phil Seals and hit a 2-run home run. It gave Phoenix a quick 2-0 lead.

"Very pleased with the effort on our side," said Chavez.

The first-place Hitters have lost 4 straight games.
