The Tampa Bay Sunrays beat the Chicago Hawks, 6-5. Tampa Bay pitcher and Menlo Park, California, native Matt Jennings led the way. The loss has the Hawks at 6-7.

Jose Olivas, who led the UL in extra base hits with 71 in 2027, had a timely hit in the bottom of the fifth inning. With one out and the bases loaded, the Tampa Bay designated hitter hit a 2-run single. That put the Sunrays in front, 6-4.

Olivas told reporters after the game: "All's well that ends well."
