| Queens Run Win Streak to 7 | Matt Philips, who is tied for 9th in the UL with a 2.30 ERA, was locked in. The right-hander led the Denver Queens to a 4-1 win against the San Francisco Pioneers at Pioneers Park. The winning pitcher was Philips, now 3-2. He tossed 6 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 7. Sergio Aguilar closed the game out for Denver, earning his 5th save.
Denver used the timely hitting of Alex Arreguin to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Queens ahead, 3-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"We've got a great group of guys," Arreguin said, "and we're having fun right now."
Denver has now reeled off 7 straight wins. | | | | |
