| 300 Career Saves for Toltecs Alex Ramirez | Alex Ramirez has joined elite company. The Leon Toltecs reliever earned his 300th save in a 4-1 victory over the Oklahoma City Twisters at Toltecs Field. The newest member of the 300 club told reporters after the game, "I get the ball and I try to win the game. When I get a save, my team wins and really that's all that matters. I'm happy to reach the milestone, but it's just that. The more important part is that I've helped my club win." While picking up the save, Ramirez allowed no hits and no runs in 1 innings of work.
Despite the dejection of their team having lost the game, even a number of Twisters fans were seen honoring Ramirez as they joined in the standing ovation as he recorded the final out on his historic save. "That was pretty special," he said. "Something I won't soon forget."
During his career, Ramirez has chalked up 300 saves. | | | | |
