| On Road, Hollywood Drops Denver, 6-1 | Hollywood starter Alfonso Garbiso kept the Denver offense from doing much damage. The right-hander leaned on his cutter in leading the Hitters to a 6-1 win. In 7.2 innings, Garbiso surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. Joaquin Cedeno notched his 2nd save of the season.
It could have been a different outcome for Hollywood, had it not been for Cameron McClure, the former first round draft pick . McClure contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put Hollywood up, 3-1.
"Alfonso was hitting his spots and everything had life," said Hollywood manager David Fields.
Hollywood has now won 3 straight, while the Queens have lost 4 in a row. | | | | |
