Houston used the timely hitting of Joe Medeiros to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Rangers on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Chavez expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."
