| Pioneers Drop Jets, 5-2, with Late Score | The Dallas Jets got a superb performance from pitcher Lance Daniello, but the San Francisco Pioneers still won the game, 5-2. Daniello threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The victory gives San Francisco a record of 21-18.
The Pioneers beat the Jets in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out single David Dukeshire produced in the bottom of the eighth. Batting against Justin Jackson, Dukeshire gave his team the lead, 3-2, when he hit a run-scoring single.
"It feels good to get this one," Dukeshire told the San Francisco Chronicle.
