Loayza, Rangers Beat Pilots, 7-2
Houston shortstop Miguel Loayza made his presence felt in the 7-2 Rangers triumph over the Seattle Pilots. Loayza was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 4. Houston starter Jesus Arenas was credited with the win after throwing 98 pitches over 6.2 innings. His record now stands at 3-2. The Rangers win now puts them at 18-24.

Loayza contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Houston in the bottom of the second. With his team trailing 1-0, Loayza took a fastball from Rodolfo Bustamante and stroked the home run to right. His 2nd home run of the season allowed the Rangers to leap in front, 2-1.

"We did a lot of really good things and it was a good win," said Rangers manager David Fields.
