The Firebirds got a big at-bat from third baseman Saulo Masya. For the game, Masya was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Phoenix a 3-0 lead.
In postgame remarks, Masya hailed his team's "single-minded focus."
