A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Leon Toltecs and Denver Queens.

The 8-3 Leon win over Denver was due largely to Chris Joyce. The Toltecs catcher went 3 for 5 with 2 doubles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Angelo Pulido earned the win for Leon. He lasted 7 innings, allowing 3 runs on 8 hits, while striking out 3. With the win, he raised his record to 5-3.

With Leon leading 2-0 in the top of the first, Joyce hit a curveball from Brad Foran for a 2-run double. It was his 9th double of the season and put the Toltecs ahead, 4-0.

Joyce attributed the win to his team's "dogged determination."

The Toltecs have an impressive 29-16 record.
