| Rangers Lose at Home, 5-4 | In a close game at Globe Life Field, the Phoenix Firebirds edged the Houston Rangers, 5-4. Phoenix first baseman Carlos Sanchez stood apart with his performance. He went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The slumping Rangers have lost 9 straight.
Sanchez contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Phoenix in the top of the fourth. With his team trailing 3-2, Sanchez took a changeup from Hector Garcia and stroked the home run to left. His 6th home run of the season allowed the Firebirds to leap in front, 5-3.
"I'm glad we can make our fans happy with a win," Sanchez told the Phoenix Herald.
