What a day for Viriato Maximiano. The 38-year-old Atlanta first baseman reached the 1500-hit mark today and the Peaches whipped the Phoenix Firebirds 2-0.

Maximiano told reporters, "It's good to finally get it. The closer you get to 1500, the harder it is to get there. Now the pressure is off and I can go back to just playing ball."

He went 1 for 4 in the game to reach the milestone.

In his career, Maximiano is hitting .227 with 1500 hits, 550 home runs, 1083 runs scored and 1144 RBIs.
