| Luchadors Top Hitters, 6-4, to Begin WC | With first baseman Josh Gannon leading the charge, the San Diego Luchadors got a road win over the Hollywood Hitters, 6-4, in Game 1 of the Wildcard. Gannon went 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once at Hitters Park to help San Diego take a 1-0 lead in the best-of-3 series.
A key moment came with two out in the top of the second. That's when Gannon hit a fastball from Rich Cole for a 2-run single, putting San Diego up, 5-0.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Gannon. "And not try to do too much."
The next game is set to be played for Tuesday, August 2nd , 2039 at Luchadors Field in San Diego.
