Pilots Suffer 6-3 Home Defeat
The Dallas Jets topped the Seattle Pilots, 6-3, with youngster David de Alva playing a key role. de Alva was 2-3 with a home run and a walk for the Jets in the win. Lance Daniello, the winning pitcher, improved to 5-4. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 10 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 7 and walking 0. Andy Urso got the save, the 5th for him this season.

Dallas took a 4-3 lead on Tom Chitty's 8th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Chitty hit in the top of the seventh, left Seattle pitcher Rodolfo Bustamante visibly frustrated.

de Alva told a Dallas Citizen reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.

Dallas, at 24-28, sits in second place in the United Central.
