| Twisters Lose Contest, 5-3 | Soggy conditions did not keep Denver and Oklahoma City from playing their scheduled game.
Denver catcher Mike Kelley was a significant contributor in his team's 5-3 triumph over the Oklahoma City Twisters. He was 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Queens. Randy Johnson earned the save for Denver, his 3rd of the year.
Kelley had a timely hit for Denver in the bottom of the seventh. With Denver trailing 3-2, he turned a first pitch sinker into a 2-run home run. It was his 9th home run of the season, making it 4-3, Denver.
"We're all smiles after that win," Kelley told the Denver Observer.
The triumph makes Denver 15-38. | | | | |
