Sunrays Hammered by Weller, Drop Game 3 to Empire
The New York Empire have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Tampa Bay Sunrays, winning, 10-4, at Sunrays Field. Empire designated hitter Dustin Weller was 2 for 4 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 5. The win cuts the deficit facing the Empire to 2-1 in the best-of-7 Conference Championship.

Weller had a key at-bat in the top of the fourth to put New York in front, 4-0. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 3-run home run off Tampa Bay pitcher Jeff Bychyk.

"It's a huge change in atmosphere versus last game," Weller said after the win. "I feel like we're back in the mix now. We just can't let up."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Friday, August 19th , 2039.
