| 6-3 Win Takes Luchadors to 40-14 | The San Diego Luchadors beat the Denver Queens, 6-3, at Queens Field. The Luchadors got a fine performance from center fielder Ruben Antunez, who went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Pat Caniglia earned the win to go to 4-1. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits, with 1 walk and 2 strikeouts in 5 innings of work. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for San Diego.
With San Diego leading 1-0 in the top of the third, Antunez hit a run-scoring single off Denver hurler Matt Philips. It was the 48th hit of the season for Antunez and put his team ahead, 2-0.
"Our approach was just to try to see something over the plate and be aggressive," Antunez told the San Diego Daily.
