| Rangers Get Clutch Win Versus Leon | The Houston Rangers took Leon pitcher Rich Luevano's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Toltecs Field. The final score had Houston getting past the Toltecs, 6-5. Luevano went 6 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 4. Houston reliever Joel Tollefson picked up the win, upping his record to 1-2. NoƩ Berner was saddled with the loss. Picking up the save was fireballing right-hander Ruben Perez.
Houston used a clutch hit from Chris Harrison to get the win. The third baseman drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Rangers ahead, 6-5. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Houston manager David Fields.
The Rangers are now 19-35. | | | | |
