Miami Makos starter J.P. Lutz turned in a top-notch performance against the Chicago Hawks at Hawks Park. The result was a win for the Makos, 6-2. In 8.2 innings, Lutz surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. The Hawks fall to 6-10.

Miami used a clutch at-bat from Jason Prioleau to capture the win. The left fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Makos ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"I just tried to focus on getting that first guy out every inning," said Lutz.
