| Queens Suffer 7-4 Road Loss | The Phoenix Firebirds defeated the Denver Queens, 7-4. Doing his part was catcher Danny Monter, who was 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Gus Marquez was the winner. Over 6.2 innings, he yielded 4 runs on 8 hits, with 1 walk and 7 strikeouts. Jose Hernandez closed it out for Phoenix, earning his 11th save.
Ezra MacPherson was 3-5 with 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for Phoenix. The former first round draft pick had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With no one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring single off Brad Foran. It was his 37th hit of the season.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said MacPherson.
The win has Phoenix at 22-33.
