| Sunrays Beat Robbers, 5-3 | Roberto Vivanco, who finished 5th in the UL in strikeouts with 149 in 2036, had a strong outing for the Tampa Bay Sunrays against the Toronto Robbers at Mounties Park. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 5-3 win. John Winsor got credit for the save for Tampa Bay. It was his 8th of the year. With the loss, Toronto sinks to 11-7.
Tampa Bay used the timely hitting of Jose Gallegos to capture the win. The first baseman socked a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Sunrays ahead, 2-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"I thought we played some darn good baseball," said Sunrays manager David Fields.
