| Pioneers Earn 5-4 Home Win | Getting a good performance from designated hitter George Katsman, the San Francisco Pioneers defeated the Houston Rangers, 5-4. Katsman slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Pioneers. Earning his 4th save for San Francisco was John Pilkington. The victory puts San Francisco at 12-46.
The Pioneers got a big at-bat from third baseman Andres Colon. For the game, Colon went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave San Francisco a 5-4 lead.
"I was just going up there trying to see good pitches, that was about it," said Katsman.
