| IL Reliever of the Year Award Winner Named Saturday, October 19th , 2041 James Gambon was dominant and cool under pressure this year, and his standout performance has earned the Philadelphia Fury closer recognition as the 2041 Independent Reliever of the Year Award.
"I was just doing my job, and my job is to get people out," said the 28-year-old out of Chester, New York.
The award winner made 48 relief appearances this year and had 37 saves. He fanned 85 batters in 50.2 innings, with 22 walks. He pitched to a record of 4 wins and 3 losses to go with his 1.24 ERA.
He received 24 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Tony Alba of the Arlington Arsenal finished second in voting, while Gerben Smits of the Detroit Vipers finished third.
