| Round 1 Goes the Distance, León HS Prevails Wednesday, April 26th , 2045 The León HS Bulldogs and Zapopan HS Huskies didn't hold back anything in the Round 1, with each team pulling out all the stops in an effort to advance to the Round 2.
León HS won the final game by a score of 7-6 at Bulldogs Stadium and that concluded the series, 4-3.
"Relief is the biggest thing," León HS second baseman Manny Galvan said when asked how he felt. "It's a grind both mentally and physically to have a long series like this, but our guys stuck with it and Zapopan HS deserves credit for the hard fight."
Galvan paced the León HS offence and earned MVP honors. For the series, he hit .406 with a .424 on-base percentage, 4 home runs, 9 RBI and scored 7 runs.
The León HS Bulldogs will play against the Ecatepec HS River Sharks in the next round. Ecatepec HS won their series against the Acapulco HS Typhoon 4 games to 2. The Flight players celebrated jubilantly in their clubhouse after the game, while the scene was one of dismay on the opposing side for the Peregrines.
Jose Barrera was named series MVP for San Luis Potosí HS. For the series, Barrera hit .375 with a .429 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 7 RBI and scored 5 runs.
