 | Savard Goes Cycling Thursday, March 16th , 2045 It was a special day for Chad Savard at San Jose HS Stadium. Not only did Savard's Ottawa HS Scots beat the San Jose HS Maples, 12-3, but the shortstop hit for the cycle along the way. The 17-year-old Savard racked up 2 singles, 1 double, 1 triple and 1 home run to get his name in the record books. For the game, he went 5-for-5 with 5 runs batted in and 3 runs scored. "He hit everything we threw," said Maples manager . "There was just no getting him out today." Speaking to the press after the game, Savard said his goal for the day had been to look for "first pitch fastballs." "I got some good looks today," he said. Chad Savard walked in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, tripled in the 4th, hit a two-run single in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Jake Chaney in the 7th and hit an RBI double in the 9th. This season, Savard is batting .288 with 3 home runs. His totals include 10 RBIs and 8 runs scored. |   |
