 | Artiaga Bangs 3 HR Against Virginia Beach HS Tuesday, March 21st , 2045 Chris Artiaga of the Sultans went on a hitting spree at Mérida HS Fields and earned membership in the select club of hitters who have hit three home runs in a game. He blasted three into the stands in a loss, 20-6, to the Virginia Beach HS Speedsters. "I'm not happy with the outcome of the game, but it was still a great game for me," Artiaga said in the clubhouse following the loss. "I have been making solid contact lately, but not getting any lift. Today I got it up in the air and out of the ballpark. I had my home run swing down pat. Got some good pitches to hit, too." The Mérida HS third baseman did indeed have quite a game, collecting 3 hits in 4 at-bats, 5 RBIs and scoring 3 runs. Chris Artiaga flied out in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Corey Jordan in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Corey Jordan in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Adam Coover in the 6th and walked in the 8th. This season, Artiaga has hit at a .329 clip and produced 15 runs batted in, 7 home runs and 17 runs. |   |
