The shortstop went to the plate 6 times and came away with 5 hits, sparking the River Sharks to a nice 19-3 victory over the Chihuahua HS Golden Gophers. "I told the guys in the dugout, just be thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere," the sweet-swinging Flores told reporters after the game. "Seems like it worked out well for us today." Golden Gophers skipper said later that the club gave up "too much plate." "Not the way we planned it," he said. "Every hitter in the league will rip you when you do that." Carlos Flores singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 5th, flied out in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Oscar Santiago in the 9th.
