| Monarrez Goes Downtown 3 Times Against Ramblers Thursday, March 23rd , 2045 Zapopan HS Huskies first baseman Armando Monarrez slugged three home runs against the Nezahualcoyotl HS Ramblers at Nezahualcoyotl HS Stadium, but couldn't win the game all by himself. The Ramblers spoiled his day by defeating the Huskies, 12-9.
"The loss puts a damper on the outstanding game Armando had, but people will be buzzing about this for days to come," Zapopan HS manager . "That's gotta be some consolation to him. But knowing Armando, he would have preferred a win."
For the game, Monarrez was 3-for-5 with 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
"The first two I got all of them and it was no doubt they were gone," Monarrez said later. "It seemed like the wind helped it a little on that last one. I just wish Mother Nature had helped us win the game, too."
Armando Monarrez hit a solo-shot off Omar Santizo in the 1st, struck out in the 2nd, struck out in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Edgar Rodriguez in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Roman Urquiza in the 8th.
Monarrez is hitting .358 for the season with 8 home runs, 15 RBIs and 20 runs scored. He has 29 hits in 81 at-bats and played in 20 games. | | |
