| No Hits for Sabino, Streak Ends at 30 Friday, March 24th , 2045 Monterrey HS first baseman Ramiro Sabino experienced something against the San Jose HS Maples he hadn't experienced a while: a hitless game.
The Maples pitching corps quieted his hot bat and snapped his streak at 30 games, but his teammates picked up the slack to lead the Rough Riders to a 8-2 victory at Rough Riders Grounds.
"Hey, ain't nothin' bad about a losing a 30-game hitting streak," Sabino joked with reporters after the game. "Now you guys will have to find someone else to bother for stories."
This year, Sabino has collected a .444 batting average to date with 44 hits in 99 at-bats, 29 RBIs, 8 home runs and scored 24 times. He has played in 22 games. | | |
