| Typhoon Nunez Goes Yard 4 Times Friday, April 7th , 2045 Fans at Vipers Grounds won't soon forget the raw display of power put on by Acapulco HS Typhoon left fielder Jose Nunez. Nunez smashed 4 home runs in Acapulco HS's 24-8 victory over the Brooklyn HS Vipers.
"To be honest with you, I have never even thought about hitting this many home runs in a game," Nunez said to reporters after the game. "Only legends hit this many home runs in a game and I ain't no legend."
In his history-making performance, Nunez victimized Brooklyn HS hurlers for 4 hits in 7 at-bats with 5 runs scored and 9 RBIs.
"What he did was unbelievable," said Brooklyn HS manager . "My guys gave it their best, but he hit some fine pitches. He was like -- he was in automatic home run mode today. He just had that great swing. It didn't matter what we threw him. It was gone."
Jose Nunez grounded out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Brandon Payne in the 3rd, grounded out in the 4th, hit a GRAND SLAM off John Snodgrass in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th, hit a two-run home run off Neil Masterson in the 8th and hit a two-run home run off Alec Majors in the 9th.
Nunez is currently hitting at a .373 pace with 14 home runs and 43 RBIs. He has played in 30 games and scored 31 times. | | |
