At Attack Stadium, Labastida showed how well he learned that lesson. The 16-year-old right fielder had 5 hits in 6 at-bats for the Nezahualcoyotl HS Ramblers, helping his team knock off the Aguascalientes HS Attack by a score of 12-9. "They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did." Rod Labastida singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Juan Corado in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Danny Castillo in the 7th and struck out in the 9th. Thus far in 2041, Labastida is hitting .297 with 5 home runs, 19 RBIs, 22 runs scored and has compiled a .364 OBP. |   |
