SL1 Hands Out Reliever of the Year Award

Omar Carrasco was a calming influence out of the Juarez HS Vikings bullpen this season.

His teammates and manager said he had a poised demeanor about him that was typical of someone much older and more experienced. His poise has paid off, as the 16-year-old turned in a sparkling season and has been named the winner of the Conference 1 Reliever of the Year Award for 2042.

The Juarez, Mexico native won the award with 1 save in 18 relief appearances, 18 strikeouts in 18.2 innings and a record of 2-0 to go with his 1.45 ERA.

He received 18 first place votes out of a possible 30. Mario Rivas of the Juarez HS Vikings finished second in voting with 8 first place votes, while Alberto Gonzalez of the Ecatepec HS River Sharks finished third with 4 first place votes.
