 | Vargas 5-for-5 for Ecatepec HS Tuesday, April 5th , 2044 It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Jose Vargas -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Huskies Park and paced the 14-7 River Sharks win over the Zapopan HS Huskies. After his dynamite batting performance, the Ecatepec HS third baseman told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 5 tries and put his name in the record book. Jose Vargas singled in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Danny Perez in the 9th. For the season, Vargas has produced 41 hits in 113 at-bats for a .363 average with 5 home runs and gotten on base at a .450 clip. |   |
