Robby Dunn of the San Jose HS Maples had one such moment at San Jose HS Stadium, when he went 5 for 7 at the plate. His hitting heroics weren't enough to pull out the victory, however, and San Jose HS succumbed to defeat, 19-17, to the Memphis HS Black Dogs. "This was quite a day for me individually, but a little disheartening at the same time," the 14-year-old shortstop told reporters in the postgame interview. "It would have been very special if we had won the game." Robby Dunn singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, flied out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, flied out in the 6th, singled in the 9th and doubled in the 10th. So far this year, Dunn is batting .248 with 3 home runs. |   |
