| Maples End Sanchez Streak Sunday, April 6th , 2042 It was the best of both worlds for the San Jose HS Maples at Patriots Stadium, as they defeated the Havana HS Patriots, 5-2, and also snapped Edward Sanchez's 21-game hitting streak. The 16-year-old Havana HS first baseman failed to get a hit in 2 at-bats.
"Nothing personal against Sanchez, we just wanted to win the game," said Maples skipper . "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing."
When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Sanchez frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won."
So far this year in 30 games, Sanchez is hitting .415 with 15 home runs, 47 RBIs and 28 runs scored. | | |
