 | Cranney Parks 3 for Santa Ana HS Wednesday, April 13th , 2044 Sometimes it just isn't enough. Josh Cranney had an outstanding day at Atlantics Grounds for the Santa Ana HS Atlantics, ripping three home runs. Nonetheless, the Atlantics fell to the Monterrey HS Rough Riders, 16-14. Cranney had a feast at the plate, pounding everything thrown his way. The 18-year-old center fielder banged out 4 hits in 6 at-bats, scored 3 times and batted in 7 runs. Despite his sensational performance, the Atlantics were not able to hold off the Rough Riders. "Baseball is a funny game," Cranney said in the post-game interview, "You can't dwell on the reasons for the loss. I'm sure there will be days when I go 0-for-4 and we win. These things tend to even out." Josh Cranney hit a two-run home run off Guillermo Franco in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Alberto Carrillo in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Jorge Alcantara in the 5th, flied out in the 7th and singled in the 9th. Cranney on the season is batting .321 with 16 home runs. His totals include 40 RBIs and 36 runs scored. He has played in 34 games. |   |
