 | 5-Hit Game for Noriega Thursday, April 14th , 2044 It seemed that Monterrey HS shortstop Hector Noriega could do no wrong as the Rough Riders KO'd the Patriots, 17-4. Noriega rapped out 5 hits in 6 at-bats and seemed to know which pitches Patriots hurlers were throwing. "I think the Rough Riders were stealing signs," growled one unhappy Havana HS fan after the game. "I felt good. I saw the ball well and just wanted to make good contact and put the ball in play," said the jubilant Noriega in the postgame press interview. Hector Noriega singled in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Danny Munoz in the 2nd, flied out in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Edwin Martinez in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off Danny Ayerdis in the 8th. This year, Noriega is hitting .316 with 13 home runs and 44 RBIs in 36 games played. He also boasts an OBP of .386 with 18 walks and 31 runs scored. |   |
