 | Mallards Advance to Round 3 Thursday, May 5th , 2044 The Cuernavaca HS Mallards are riding high after winning the Round 2 and eliminating the Puebla HS Peacocks by a series score of 4-2. The final blow came tonight at Puebla HS Stadium, when Cuernavaca HS secured its spot in the Round 3 with a 9-4 victory. "It feels good to put them away because we really didn't want to let them crawl back into this series," said third baseman Jorge Guerra, who was named series MVP. "A team like that, you need to bury them when you get the chance." Guerra certainly helped his team's cause, as he hit .440 with a .500 on-base percentage in the series. He also chipped in 5 home runs, drove in 13 RBI and scored 9 runs. The Cuernavaca HS Mallards will play against the Ecatepec HS Seawolves in the next round. Ecatepec HS won their series against the Kansas City HS Victory 4 games to 0. The Round 3 schedule will be announced after the Round 2 finishes. |   |
