 | Alvarez Sensational, 5-for-6 Friday, May 2nd , 2042 There aren't many who could be pro ballplayers and there are even fewer who could put up 5 hits in a day. Nelson Alvarez is one of those rare few, as he went 5-for-6 against the New York HS Spikes at Spikes Field. The monster effort from the 18-year-old first baseman helped the Charlotte HS Thunder Cats get the win, 22-4. "We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said Spikes manager . "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today." Nelson Alvarez singled in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Vinny Ramirez in the 4th, struck out in the 5th, hit a two-run double in the 7th, doubled in the 8th and hit an RBI double in the 9th. This year, Alvarez is batting .359 with 10 home runs. |   |
